Event Networking Versus Strategic Networking: One Is Better

There are two kinds of networking:

  1. Event networking
  2. Strategic networking

Event networking is what most people do. The event that starts the process is generally a job search or business development for a new client.   Strategic marketing is a long-term process tied to an individual’s personal career visioning statement.  

Strategic networking is infinitely more productive and cost effective.  This is the form I recommend.  Strategic marketing incorporates the elements of event networking 

Networking is necessary heavy lifting for personal growth, business development and personal brand management. 

In this troubled new economy, networking is a career essential.
